Love the logic here ;D

Typical Lubavitcher, always trying to trick you to buying into their agenda. In this case he’s trying to get you to ask your question in person.

Someone PM'd the same. The Rebbe was talking about the mesiras nefesh of previous generations, when the gashmius was horrible and they still took the time to daven and learn while running their businesses. He goes on the contrast today's wealth of gashmius, when meat is no longer a luxury. The most memorable line would probably be when the Rebbe talks about today's (70's?) housewives wanting wall-to-wall carpeting, and how previous generations would wonder why we're covering up perfectly good planks of wood.

It may have been contected to some publication relating to America Iz Nisht Anderish (series?).
Reaching out to jemedia may be a start, although can't say it will have definite results

No nightly rate, we reel you in that way and make the big bucks later when you start buying bendelach.

You wish, I have long ago taken steps to protect myself against a racket such as that:

Holy moly, it was such a hectic week that I forgot all about my bendel. Thanks @Dan for posting now and generating an email alert.

Obviously too late to buy one (I leave early Sunday), so I made my own. Thanks @Yehuda57 for the tip. Thankfully I had some elastic in the house.

Took me about 20 seconds and looks totally professional ;D:

What's a bendelah and what is its significance?

A gartel worn under the shirt. It also holds the tzitizis in place.
Typically it's an adjustable 1/2" - 3/4" elastic band that closes with clips.

Meh, as a native Yiddish speaker it can go both ways (to be more pedantic, while the singular of Bendlich would be Bendel, the singular of Bendelach - which is how it was spelled upthread - would be Bendelah).

It goes without saying that I'm not a Lubavitcher, so the pronunciation might not have anything to do with the Yiddish that I grew up with :)

Never heard it called anything but a bendel.
So what's the singular/plural of gezhe, kelishke, and kvort?

Was only explaining why I wrote it the way I did, not commenting on what it's actually called since at the time I didn't even know what it was

So what's the singular/plural of gezhe, kelishke, and kvort?
As I mentioned, I'm not a Lubavitcher, so I can't comment on Lubavitch terms, won't even attempt

gezhe,

No singular. There is no "ich" in gezhe. My metzius is one with my ancestors, and hence always plural.

kelishke

Why would you ever need a singular form? Yidden don't drink alone.

kvort

Don't need singular. Can't use it without 2 handles.

Wow TIL. I thought what we call gartel chabad calls bendel. Wearing a gartel under the shirt is a total chidush for me.

I don't see Lubavitchers in shul everyday. I do recall seeing them with gartels, so you say those are only married ones? I hear.

Bendel under the shirt for everyone, gartel over a jacket/kapota when married and davening.

How about wearing a gartel on top of a shirt (with no jacket)?

For some reason it seems to me that it is something that only those that have some sort of affiliation with Chabad do (even though IMHO one who considers himself a Lubavitcher should not be davening like this, but should wear a jacket during davening.

Also, the function of the bendel as a shabbos key bendel cannot be understated.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

How do marrieds make sure their ט"ק is fully spread?
