@aygart 's post was about the mitzvah, presumably, I don't think (m)any non-Lubavitchers were aware that Lubavitchers don't even wear it for Kovod hatzibur.
You need to get out more.  :)

Except if saying סליחות by the omud in Elul (and someone in the minyan is aware).
FWIW, Rabbi Chaikin would always have someone married for that propose, but YLLRMV there.

What if the minyan is only bochurim? Or if married people in the minyan are not capable?

Rabbi Chaikin sent his kids who were learning in Israel to Eilat for the shalosh regalim :)
V'da"l.

to add. Those are not just kovid hatzibur, I would probably be in the category of הכין

Which is why I also referenced self-respect.

So along those lines, if he would be called with a shaala of what to do for selichos in Elul if only bochurim are around, he would tell them to make a brief engagement, get married, and then they could go to the omud?

Minhag Chabad brought in Hayom Yom is that the Chazan for Mincha or Ma'ariv doesn't wear a Talis, same for Shabbos, R"H and Y"K. (No difference between married or Bochur)

In Chabad (by the Rebbe) Bar Mitzvah boys generally don't get Aliyas Shabbos morning, Mincha they don't wear a Talis and weekdays, the Rebbe would be at the Yeshiva Minyan so the assumption is that if the Tzibbur aren't wearing Talleisim, it's not necessary for Kovod Hatzibur.

As far as Shabbos Chazan and Aliya by Shachris there are different schools of thought.

By the Rebbe, the only Bochurim to get Aliyas Shabbos morning were Chassanim by their Aufruf and they did wear a Talis. There were exceptions though. Such as a Bochur who Leined on Shabbos morning, or a Bar Mitzvah boy who got an Aliya on YT and they also wore a Talis.

Some say that whoever gets an Aliya by a Minyan which is mostly married men, should wear a Talis, and that's the only reason why a Chosson does. Others say that only a Chosson should but other Bochurim shouldn't wear a Talis even if they are getting an Aliya at Shachris in a Minyan which is mostly married men.

ETA: I wrote this half asleep and I wrote later paragraphs before earlier so it might not make sense.
I hope you find my comments interesting though.

As long as they have time to go to him for Chosson classes as well.

I'm sure he would accommodate an express abridged version, just so they can go to the omud.

Either a very old timer with no combination locks or a very up to date with only Ring/electric locks. :)
My Grandfather zl had his key on his belt, don't know of anyone else today.
I actually find it very convenient to have my keys all week on my Bendel. Can never get locked out..

My point was about using keys to enter your home altogether.

He probably sent them to the wrong Yeshiva. He could have sent them to Tzfas, where Rabbi Landa who was there at the time ruled that foreign bochurim should keep two days YT.  :P

When I was a bochur, I asked RC what I should do.
"Nu, what do you want to do?"
Well, we're staying with my great uncle who keeps 1 day.
"Shoin, so here's Rabbi Ashkenazi's number, call and ask him the shayla."

Ok. We get it. Anyone who wants to ask a shaala and get a cop out answer can just call RC.

Nope, specifically that issue. That one was one and only time he wouldn't give a p'sak himself.
But yes, he'll advise to avoid situations when possible l'chatchila.
