Exactly. Now you get it.

When was the last time you saw me call any of the 30,500 DDFers who came after me a newbie?

There was an initial question?

Firstly how do I tell apart a Gehza from a Tzugekumener? A Reitzes is probably of course a Gehza but how about A Lazar? (Both remote cousins of mine). Don't tell me the most famous Shliach in the world isn't considered Gehza just because he's a descendent from Yekkes.

*Frog Dissection Ahead*

Gezhe is a joke. It's a term whose definition changes depending on the context and who's using it. It generally means OG Lubavitcher from specific Chassidic towns. It's not something 99.9% of Lubavitchers take seriously. The most common current usage, outside of jokes, is when relative newcomers think they aren't getting a seat at the table because the "gezhe" are Deep State and control the game. You're getting a peak at 50 years of gezhe jokes.

There are certainly deep state who in Lubavitch who are not Gezhe.

Here's a map. I'm sure many towns might be recognized. But it's only the few (Nevel, Klimovitch, Beshinkovitch, Dokshitz and maybe 1 or 2 more) that qualify for the true gezhe hallmark.

ETA: just for fun I've expanded the map to include the (Lithuanian) town where my maternal grandmother comes from, which actually had a Chassidshe community, but my grandmother's family wasn't part of it.

The most prestigious shliach can indeed not be gezhe. You can be gezhe and not even be an observant Jew. So long as your grandparents urinated in select Russian/Ukranian towns. Depending on which town any gezhe Lubavitcher stems from, the other towns won't count.
why does such a term even exist? Given that chasidus and chabad is all about pnimius,  where someone's grandparents ....... shouldn't carry any weight whatsoever

The act of urination had to occur while Brezhnev was the Secretary-General of the Soviet Communist Party or earlier.
way too late
I guess
A "tzugekumener" is anyone who came to Lubavitch after you, similar to "newbies" on DDF.
