Don't even try. Don't even try.

Talk about inclusive. Maybe @Yehuda57 is right about the insularity and I'm just not keeping up with the latest trends.

why does such a term even exist? Given that chasidus and chabad is all about pnimius,  where someone's grandparents ....... shouldn't carry any weight whatsoever

Who mentioned anything about Chassidus?

GEZHE IS A JOKE.

Either the person using it is joking, and if they are being serious, THEY are the joke.

Said the non Gezhe (who is a descendent of the AR, and of Menucha Rochel IINM - which is a different kind of brand with its own comradery, but as mentioned above, that doesn't count) trying to hold onto straws and gain legitimacy.  :P
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

There are certainly deep state who in Lubavitch who are not Gezhe.

Here's a map. I'm sure many towns might be recognized. But it's only the few (Nevel, Klimovitch, Beshinkovitch, Dokshitz and maybe 1 or 2 more) that qualify for the true gezhe hallmark.

ETA: just for fun I've expanded the map to include the (Lithuanian) town where my maternal grandmother comes from, which actually had a Chassidshe community, but my grandmother's family wasn't part of it.
Well I guess I'm going to have to lay claim to some serious Gezhe status.

@Dan look at all these fresh fish lubab wannabees.

ETA: My Great great grandfather didn't just piss in Dokshitz he shi@&z there too ;)

The act of urination had to occur while Brezhnev was the Secretary-General of the Soviet Communist Party or earlier.

I have it on reliable authority that Neville St. in Pittsburgh counts (maybe only if you were farbrenging at Chabad on Campus before).

Not my field of expertise.

Labels are for t shirts. And pants. And undershirts, etc. Though sometimes we prefer tagless because the labels get in the way, the information is still helpful and necessary and thus still printed.

Takka polar opposites from lkwd!
here in lkwd we’re very into labels.
Everyone here is labeled in one way or another

Alas, the only time I was in Wickliffe was for Kaparas one year. Outdoors.

But the Rosh gave me a bracha with my lekach one year that I shouldn't be such a yekke.
Sorry, I can’t click the link to see which Rosh that is, but Rabbi Chaim Stein ztl who was a Rosh Yeshiva there was married to a Gezha
