Whats the question?

I imagine Boruch Gorin is a historian and knizhniki is some sort of historical/research organization, but I don't speak Russian so...

What does Book’s Boruch Gorin mean?

Why don't you try Google translate (or something similar) to translate the page. You would then realize that it is a publishing house.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Question for a Lubavitcher:

I have heard that the Rebbe Zatzt"al went to college in Berlin. And i know that Chassidim follow in the footsteps of their Rebbe, or at least are supposed to. But i don't know any Lubavitcher who went to college. What's up with that?

(note to anyone who reads this: i am not in any way shape or form saying anyone should go to college, im just asking regarding Lubavitchers)

In a nutshell, the Rebbe advocated against going to college for 2 primary reasons. 1) the kefirah that lies within much of the teaching, 2) the environment of "pritzus" (for lack of a better term). The Rebbe further said one should not think they can withstand those issues, as we ask everyday, al t'vienu lidei nisayon. The Rebbe himself brought up that a person could taaneh, "but the Rebbe went to college", but that too is not a reason to put yourself in such a nisayon.

So those who follow "in the footsteps of the Rebbe" will listen to what the Rebbe said and not go to college.

There were individuals who the Rebbe did tell to go to college, and many (if not all) who had already started college were instructed to continue, even if they wished to drop out and go to yeshiva.

To add to this:
The Rebbe was asked (by Herbert Weiner I think) why he tells his chassidim not to go to college, when he had.

The Rebbe responded that having been in college, he knows how bad it is.

As a side note, the Rebbe was in his late 20s and married (or engaged).

Thank you for the responses. The question is how was the Rebbe allowed to go to college. Surly the Apikorses (and maybe Pritzus) was prevelant then as well as it was later on...

Also, you need to get out more. I probably know a few hundred Lubavitchers who went to college or graduate school.

Myself included. And all 5 of my brothers. Albeit we didn't waste time with a traditional 4 year in person undergrad and probably most don't.

That's a different question, not "the" question you asked. I can throw various boich svaros into the ring, but I ain't going to even try farentfer for the Rebbe, and I'd be skeptical of anyone who would try do so.

I don't know what the Lubavitcher Rebbe would say. I don't pretend to be a Navi.

OOPS!

Now @Yehuda57 won't like any of my posts anymore due to extreme skepticism bias. :(
