Do you wear a kapota today?

Did you say Tachnun at Mincha yesterday?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Why not ask about Tachnun today?

What was done when the rebbe was alive?
https://collive.com/diary-captures-historic-moments/

"Tuesday, Teves 5, 5747 (1987)

A year after the court case, at about 12:00 pm, rumors began circulating around 770, Didan Notzach! Did you hear? There is verdict from court! Unbelievable!

People started dancing, in 770, then outside 770. A few minutes later the dancing stopped, but they continued to say Lechayim. But a few minutes later, the dancing started full force.

...

After Shmone Esrei, the Chazan started to say Kaddish, but the Rebbe started to say Tachanun, so the Chazan stopped until the Rebbe was told there was a Choson there, and the Chazan continued Kaddish."

If that's what the rebbe did then it should be a kal vchomer for everyone else, no?

Why not ask about Tachnun today?

Because where I davened Mincha yesterday there was a discussion, where I davened Shachris today there was none. (my opinions aside).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Why not ask about Tachnun today?

You're ignoring the first question.

Also, does it make a difference how much alcohol and what type one consumed on ה' טבת ה'תשמ"ז when determining if Tachnun should be said?

FTR:

1. My recollection is approximately 11:20am.
2. I couldn't see what went on with the Chazan or the Rebbe, as I was davening Mincha laying on the floor of 770, unable to stand up straight after I taking a drop of Crown Royal, when I started the day with a nice serving from R' Meir Itkin a"h (v'Hamevin Yovin), followed by several servings of Smirnoff which felt like water after that first serving.
3. IINM in subsequent years they always made sure there's a chosson around so no questions asked.

Amazing how they outsmarted the Rebbe.

Kapota confusion is the biggest affliction facing Lubavitch today. I should probably add a special occasion section to this site:

I know @Yehuda57's answer. I asked for yours.

And for those wearing a kapota and saying Tachnun (Crown Heights has a siyum Sefer Torah today so no questions), how does it feel saying Tachnun while wearing a silk kapota?

Rather interesting that your Yarmulka had a train on it rather than a 747. Were your parents into Amtrak back in the day? That's some rebellious kid, ditching the train tradition for air travel!

Yes, but 13 months later...

Is there a centralized likut of all places that the Alter Rebbe paskended differently as a later date then what is paskened in Shulchan Orech Harav?
while it's probably not exhaustive, the שו"ע has פסקי הסדור appended to it, is probably a good start
