Was in hospital in israel and chicken was Rabbi landau fromBnei brak hechsher and chabad guy told me he can't eat it bec it is not chabad shechita
Anybody know what chabad requires in shechita diffirent than any other?
This was a few years ago and things have changed in the Landau Hechsher, but when my wifes Lubavitcher cousins came to use for Shabbos they said that they would eat Eidah or R' Landau. I wonder if there are different shittas in Chabad...

What's the Pshat in "Yakar" - Zu Tefillin? What's the connection to Purim?

Does the Lubavitcher Rebbe Zatza"l have a piece on it?

The Rebbe has a sicha how the four things that the Gemara alludes to in that verse (Torah, YT, Bris, and Tefillin) are things that on the surface can appear similar to practices other nations have, but how the Jewish ones hold a qualitatively different meaning.

Some people only eat shchita from someone that came from the same shtetel as them. Could also argue the intent and kabalistic kavanah of the shochet matters. And could also argue it's just politics. Or only wanting to financially support within your circle. Actual halcaha for chickens, I don't personally know of any.

can you add an option for "the women in my family do not drink vodka" so 99% of DDF can send in their vote?

Like every other "group" in Am Yisroel, Lubavitcher chassidim are not a monolith. Individuals within each group have kashrus specifications based on mesorah, hergesh, or guidance from their LOR. There are Lubavitchers who will eat anything that is Glatt, some who will only eat with specific hechsherim (Chassidish, Lubavitch, etc.), and some who will eat from specific shochtim.

Someone can agree a certain type of food is healthy, and still choose not to eat it based on their personal reasons (reactions, diet, etc.). L'havdil, a Lubavitcher can say something is 100% kosher and still have reasons not to want to put it into their body. No irony.

For example, there are numerous Lubavitcher run hechsherim that approve chalav stam, which for them, personally, is as good as treif.

REALLY??

No need for uppercase screaming. My father, for instance, ran the local hechsher in JNB for 40+ years which approves CS.

OK also did (does?)

At least none of those have Chabad or Lubavitch in their name.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

It is actually much simpler than this.

Some people insist on "Lubavitch shechita" and some don't. There is no objective definition for "Lubavitch shechita". Since it is a subjective term, different people will accept different shechitos.

That is saying there is no reasoning to what they do, I don't think that's usually the case.

Since when is subjectiveness lack of reasoning?

My FIL used to call "Lubavitch Shechita" chauvinism (without commenting on whether it is positive or negative).
