Was looking around a bit trying to get info on the the symbol used by Hatzaloh (and many others) showing a snake coiled on a rod. Seems to be straight out of Greek mythology
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_of_Asclepius

so I was wondering why Hatzolah would use it. Then I came across this article
https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/5154286/jewish/Is-the-Snake-on-a-Rod-Medical-Sign-Kosher.htm

where it says that the Rebbe said not to use it for this reason. I assume that means it isn't featured on the ambulances in Crown Heights?  The article says that are many others the don't as well, curious if anyone knows which ones do not.

(It could be argued that the Greeks stole the idea from the Torah especially considering that the Torah predates that specific mythology by many centuries.)

Isn't it based on the Nachash of Moshe Rabbenu?

ETA: Just read the Chabad article.

Looking at their logos online, it seems like most don't use it.

Guess Hatzalah of Central Jersey is the outlier on this, interesting.

Is it permissible to use if it's true that the pagans stole it from sefer bamidbar?

I heard that Chabad don't say the birkas haoreach as brought in OC 201. Is there any specific reason for this? (I'm aware MB also queries the common practice but I'm wondering if there is anything Chabad specific.)

Neither does Kamarna (it's included in the regular Bracha).

If the picture came out unclear

Doesn’t really answer the question, so it’s not מה״ת and benching is to Hashem, but why not follow the universal nusach as brought in S”A?

When I visit non-Lubavitch people and it’s in their bencher I try to remember to say it, it’s a beautiful bracha.

Have you ever been a part of, or been tempted to be a part of,
Chabad-related discussions in the YWN forum (Coffee Room)?
