Yes, which is why the custom is only by leather shoes.

Is it common for lubabitchers to bring their lulav on Chol Hamoed trips? I was in PIT zoo earlier today and I saw this.

Yes, see rambam hilchos lulav 7:24

The purpose is to give other Jews the opportunity to do the mitzvah if they don't have their own set

Yes, to do this

I ask because it's fairly common for frum women to do the mitzvah with Lubavitchers doing mivtzoim

A friend of mine was at an Avraham Fried concert yesterday, and posted a beautiful pic of him taking time out right before the concert to help someone shake. Apparently he brought his along!

There are different styles.
I got this one: https://www.menorah.net/product/car-menorah/
They also come as a plastic bubble-type menorah. I don't know where to buy those.

Maybe because Israel was last in Syria in 1974 and even then it was under hostile conditions.
When did the Inyan of printing all over start?
There were no civilian shluchim to enter Syria over the years since then?

Didn’t get through the whole thing, but sounds like the point was so that people living that place should learn it.

What’s up with people making an inyan of printing it in remote locations where no Jews live?

In addition to encouraging learning, the Rebbe ascribed spiritual significance to having a Tanya printed in a place.

Originally the campaign was to print in each country where there were Jews. The Rebbe later expanded "every place where there are Yidden, even a place where there is just one Yid."

I don't think there is any inyan to bring Jews to a place just to print a Tanya, but if there are Jews (in this situation Israeli soldiers) there, a Tanya should be printed.

What Is that spiritual significance?
