Now we get to the point of were we are now that started all this. Should they have separated them to begin with? If no should the families be compensated?

I truly don't know. If you knowingly put yourself in that type of situation, are you the one whos liable? Reminds me a bit of the Kyle Rittenhouse situation. Should he be guilty of self defense (assuming it truly was) because he put himself there? Additionally, if it was legal to separate them (not arguing moral/ethical) why would they deserve any comp? Assuming they DO get comp, I don't believe it should be $450k under any circumstances, but we're a long way from that discussion.

Now if you only want to talk about the amount crossing the border then Bidens actions/inactions have made that worse.

@CountValentine I believe that is one valid point where you were wrong. I don't believe anyone here wants children ripped from parents. I do believe people think it's the best/only option available without worse consequences, but those aren't one and the same. To be clear, my discussion started after that.
