Now we get to the point of were we are now that started all this. Should they have separated them to begin with? If no should the families be compensated?
I truly don't know. If you knowingly put yourself in that type of situation, are you the one whos liable? Reminds me a bit of the Kyle Rittenhouse situation. Should he be guilty of self defense (assuming it truly was) because he put himself there? Additionally, if it was legal to separate them (not arguing moral/ethical) why would they deserve any comp? Assuming they DO get comp, I don't believe it should be $450k under any circumstances, but we're a long way from that discussion.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

I think he explained himself pretty well this time. Open your mind a bit and be more accepting of hearing viewpoints you don't agree with.

I didnít read the last few pages as

But this
I guess some are OK with with ripping children away from their Mothers. How little compassion some people have.
Is just being a jerk.

I agree other that regarding the original comment stating that being against paying these amounts means that they
are OK with with ripping children away from their Mothers. .
Once that rhetoric is introduced it undermines the rest.

Sorry if you feel separating children at the border isn't part of the border crisis.
Now if you only want to talk about the amount crossing the border then Bidens actions/inactions have made that worse.
See you can have a political view and still be honest. Give it a try.

That is not hyperbole
It is a strawman argument that has nothing to do with what we are talking.

@CountValentine I believe that is one valid point where you were wrong. I don't believe anyone here wants children ripped from parents. I do believe people think it's the best/only option available without worse consequences, but those aren't one and the same. To be clear, my discussion started after that.

It wasn't a hyperbole, but it still was something that is done here all the time. People take a legitimate point/statement/comment, and assume the rest from what was stated. Doesn't make it any more correct.

Do you really think I assume anyone here wants the children ripped from their Mother (rhetorical)?

that is exactly what makes it a straw man argument.

Straw Man Fallacy

A straw man fallacy occurs when someone takes another personís argument or point, distorts it or exaggerates it in some kind of extreme way, and then attacks the extreme distortion, as if that is really the claim the first person is making.

A simple on-topic not loaded question that is not answered by anyone.

Because you said it outright here. What was the point you were trying to make? Just to start the discussion?
