Transfer from an English bank account to us bank account?

I'm sorry if there is already a thread on this but I'm looking for a way to transfer cash from London to my chase account so I can pay my American cc( I'm using in London ). Maybe Paypal? Amazon payments?..... Please help . Thanks

Hmmm, cash is tricky. Best to find someone who is in the US and needs cash in the UK and do a switch.

If you have a UK account just wire it. Which issuer/CC is it?

i didnt mean "cash" necessarily, i could put the cash into into an english bank account. but what do i do once its in the bank account. a wire is very expensive. the account is barclays. i want to transfer to chase

XE won't give you the best rate, but won't have any fees. Wire will give you a much better rate (IME) but will have fees, possibly at both ends.

Paypal will cost you a fee.
I wonder if you can add to your paypal balance using pounds and then withdraw into chase in Dollars, I dunno. It definitely can be done from one US bank to the other.

What bank do you use in England? With barclays you can have a usd account and transfer for a small fee or you can use western union business solutions.

Try one of the local money changers. You could pay them by cash, debit card etc., and they will transfer it to a US account. Their fees may vary though.
