Buyout after lease maturity?

Thoughts on buying out a car after the lease term matures? When does it make sense financially?

When you can make money off of it by reselling it yourself... or perhaps if you really wanted to keep the car and the residual buy-out is much cheaper than the current blue book value.

Not necessarily true at all. Do your homework on it before saying that. I personally did it this year and made a hefty sum. I know 2 others who recently did the same.
