Are wages going up because of this?
Before anyone celebrates the increase in wages just remember that it will be passed on to you, the consumer, & prices will increase even more.
G-d forbid an executive shouldn't be able to afford his 3rd summer mansion.
These are the facts, like it or not.
So we should lower wages and that will bring prices down?
I don't know anything for sure. But the buzz all over seems to be that restaurants have a hard time getting workers. These are often minimum/low wage jobs, and getting unemployment (sometimes coupled with some off-the-books job (or trading stonks and crypto)) is more lucrative. Commodity prices will eventually come down, but once you pay $20 or more per hour for a menial job, I don't see that going down.
No, workers should just stay home till it’s $75 an hour & you're paying $30 for a cup of coffee.Employers shouldn’t have to compete with whatever Uncle Sam is paying to stay home.
Uncle Sam isn't paying anyone to stay home but nice pretzel.
Yes, Uncle Sam is paying many people to stay home, hold the pretzel.
Provide a link so I can prove you wrong once again.
...and employees shouldn't have to work for the pathetic minimum wage.
AP dead or Obi dead?
Uncle Sam isn't paying anyone to stay home
What do you want a link to? My life? Names of people I know choosing to stay home because Uncle Sam deposits money in their account every 2 weeks and told them they don't have to pay their mortgage for a while? He also sends them a weekly box of food and an occasional big check just for being alive and having some kids.
Almost no one in the US works for minimum wage.
So this is just another pie in the sky. I can give you many examples of people going back to work making less including my own daughter. Hire them back and if they don't come back cut off their unemployment.
