Are wages going up because of this?

I would guess so. I am probably going to be hiring in the near future, and in my mind the starting wage will likely need to be higher than what I offered as starting wage just a little over a year ago.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Before anyone celebrates the increase in wages just remember that it will be passed on to you, the consumer, & prices will increase even more.

So we should lower wages and that will bring prices down?  ::)

G-d forbid an executive shouldn't be able to afford his 3rd summer mansion.

No, but we should be incentivizing employment rather than the other way around.

No, workers should just stay home till it’s $75 an hour & you're paying $30 for a cup of coffee.

Employers shouldn’t have to compete with whatever Uncle Sam is paying to stay home.

I don't know anything for sure. But the buzz all over seems to be that restaurants have a hard time getting workers. These are often minimum/low wage jobs, and getting unemployment (sometimes coupled with some off-the-books job (or trading stonks and crypto)) is more lucrative.

Commodity prices will eventually come down, but once you pay $20 or more per hour for a menial job, I don't see that going down.
You seemed quite confident. Not all of these price increases can be blamed on labor there are definitely other market factors at play that are increasing commodities amongst other items/services in demand.
It seems you are using this to counter a talking point (Unemployment decreases labor availability) without acknowledging the across the board increases in almost all sectors of the economy.

What do you want a link to? My life? Names of people I know choosing to stay home because Uncle Sam deposits money in their account every 2 weeks and told them they don't have to pay their mortgage for a while? He also sends them a weekly box of food and an occasional big check just for being alive and having some kids.

Almost no one in the US works for minimum wage.

So this is just another pie in the sky. I can give you many examples of people going back to work making less including my own daughter.
Hire them back and if they don't come back cut off their unemployment.

Just a couple million.  ::)
The minimum wage is so low no one should be making that little.

Because you know of people who went back to work for less means that they don't pay anyone?
