I love how some people in this thread are trying to convince people the sky is pink. Seems to work well for Biden, let’s see how midterms go…
Is there anyone in this thread that thinks inflation isn't high?
Disagree. I hope we never get to find out....I’ve seen hyperinflation and it ain’t pretty.
I think people are mostly pushing back against the inflammatory phrasing of the thread title (and of OP's history pushing this narrative of *hyper*inflation)
How about "is a recession on the horizon"?https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-12-11/fed-hikes-seen-starting-with-yield-curve-flattest-in-generation
I will answer that right after:1 - what is your definition of "recession"2 - what time frame is "on the horizon"
1 - Two consecutive quarters of economic contraction. 2 - Within the next 2-3 years. (That's a rather short horizon)
Good stuff.
CNBC: El-Erian says 'transitory' was the 'worst inflation call in the history' of the Fed.https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/13/el-erian-says-transitory-was-the-worst-inflation-call-in-the-history-of-the-fed.html
Thank you. I usually try to only post stuff that I consider good, regardless of whether I agree or not. I cannot wait to hear her piece with Lacy Hunt. That should be really worth listening to (IINM I once posted something from Lacy Hunt on DDF. Paging @TimT ).
