What is your (anyone) definition for hyperinflation?
A sharp increase in prices (almost) across the board, in (almost) every sector, such that the purchasing power of the dollar is greatly diminished.

Again this is in a
colloquial
sense, not trying
to debate official terminology
Small people talk about other people.
Average people talk about things
BIG PEOPLE TALK ABOUT IDEAS.

What else is new, an academic who doesn't understand colloquial nuance. Inflation is happening in a very noticeable way. Ordinary inflation is like watching grass grow. Kind of nerdy to be jumping into the conversation to debate official terminology
What is your (anyone) definition for hyperinflation?
Hyperinflation is generally defined at 50%+ a month. I think that almost all economists would agree that is astronomically unlikely to occur with USD.

That being said, the dollar has been effectively devalued more than 3% over the past year. The standard inflationary effect of more (unearned, if I may add, which intensifies the effect) dollars chasing less goods leading to rising prices across the spectrum has certainly been in effect.
Although technically speaking ”Hyperinflation is generally defined at 50%+ a month.” I am referring to something similar to what happened in the US from 1973-1982 where inflation averaged 8.8% a year. Or even worse...
We don’t need some Ivy League PHD to split hairs about the definition of “hyperinflation.” Cost of living has gone up well >20% and shows no sign of stopping. There is no stability in the market in the sense that you can predict what anything will cost a few months from now.
