- U.S. inflation was up 6.2% in October over a year ago. That’s the highest inflation in 31 years.

Think about this; cheap money pumping the stock market is veiling what's really happening

It’s not just a matter of companies passing their own cost increases along to consumers. Companies are making a windfall as they can push price increases that are well above inflation without much consumer pushback. You can bet that the kosher food industry price increases aren’t merely tracking year over year inflation either.

I'm sure there is truth to this, but being a smaller player means they can be stuck paying even more.

I don't recall where I saw this, but I'm sure someone else will remember. The kosher brands often use the factories of non-jewish companies, and they're having a difficult time getting access. One of the kosher dairy companies said they can't make the greek yogurt bars because the factories are short staffed so they want to keep all available production for themselves to sell, that's why it was out of stock for months already at that time.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Americans are feeling the effects of inflation, while the Biden administration ignores it.

that would be at least the 3rd one oin the past few months not mention shrinking the yogurt cups

Curious if this would be a problem of ona'ah - if a store is selling a yogurt that has 10% less in it for the same price, most people think they are getting the regular size. While the transaction would not be reversible, is there any issur committed? Or perhaps you can say that charging the same price for 10% less is the real market price, but the store is afraid to admit it for fear of losing sales.

The new 6 ounce amount is clearly there, as well as a complete new look, label and cup size.

Haven't seen the yogurt cups specifically, but am asking about any product where everything is the same except the content amount. I understand you can look at the label and see the new size, but most people don't remember how many oz are in a product, and the entire purpose of shrinkflation packaging is to fool customers into thinking they are getting the same amount as before.

Good question theoretically, did you see this happen with kosher products?

CNBC: Fed is losing credibility over its inflation narrative, Mohamed El-Erian says.
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/11/15/mohamed-el-erian-says-fed-is-losing-credibility-over-its-inflation-narrative.html

'It is not transitory'

"We are in this transition of central banks mischaracterizing inflation. The repeated narrative: 'It is transitory, it is transitory, it is transitory.' It is not transitory," El-Erian said, warning the Fed risked making a major policy mistake.
