« on: April 14, 2021, 10:16:23 PM »
I was told that since the onset of COVID Hackensack hospital has closed their nursery in the Maternity unit. Does anyone have current info on this?

I'm not sure about their nursery, but most nurseries are shut. Some prior to covid due to the importance of 'bonding' with your newborn. They forgot that the mom is a patient that needs proper recovery... You should ask a doula that works in your neighborhood. Good Luck!

Probably best off calling the maternity ward and asking what their guidelines/restrictions are, as these things can change fairly quickly. B'Shaa Tova!

Oh & try to take a covid test BEFORE your due date if possible. The hospital may accept it & you won't need to test when admitted. Definitely a good idea to find out all the covid guidelines in place beforehand.

Also if the OB will do antibody testing and it comes back positive, you may be able to avoid the swab in the hospital. Worth looking into...

She's about to give birth. I sure hope a little swab in her nose isn't  considered scary or too be feared.

If they treat you like a leper until the results come back, that’s something to avoid too.

Come on, what do they do?? They separate her for 15 minutes until the results come back so as not to put other people at risk of getting sick (not to mention that many of those people are already high risk)? Boohoo. Should we also ketch when they put gowns and other PPE on when delivering or doing g other surgeries? "What, they think I could make them sick or something? Ew." At some point people have to just grow up and enjoy life. Look at the big picture.

Ur right, they have no concern about making other patients to sick. Or their staff. It's all about making more money.

IME they don't, and tests come back very quickly.

Ahh, so u also believe that most positives are false? Ok. I'm assuming you read major studies and research and have tons of experience in relevant fields. If not, I suggest you learn a lot about it before saying nonesense.

No but it's definitely uncomfortable, so why not avoid it if you can?

At this point, probably 60-70% of the people you know have had Covid, maybe more. I'm not understanding which numbers are leading you to believe there are so many fake positives.
