Point stands about leaving the light on not costing much. Hence I'm wondering if anyone has a practical use for it.

Definitely a plug/switch/any device that can have a setting for on or off the whole Shabbos/Yom Tov with the ability to set other regular timers is already a product that's useful and doesn't exist on one device.

I have a regular timer, only have to tweek it once every so often. And can be set how you like for when you go away... Don't see how it would be practical for me (or for most).

It technically does. It uses internet just to keep an accurate clock.

Realistically you'd want wifi for it, even if you set it up with wifi and then take off wifi if the power goes out you'd lose the time and even if not the time can slowly be less accurate.

Confirmed it can work offline, but the time would have to be reset each time the power goes out. (Setting the time would require connecting to it with a device the has the ability to connect to wifi)
