3- You really think that he was a biased judge? Did the defense move for him to recuse?
1- I think it's very plausible. He went from being a no-name judge to a nationwide figure who may make it into history books.
2- Yes. Any decision the can be perceived as prejudice to the defense could've ignited the tinderbox. Which is why there were NO such decisions, as far as I'm aware.
3- IINM, you can't ask a judge to recuse themselves based on decisions they make in the case. And even if you can, it's stupid to openly start up with a judge during trial. It's much smarter to lay low and file an appeal at a time the judge cannot do any damage to your case anymore.
