Classic case of misrepresentation.

Trump NEVER "threatened" to have Republicans stay home. He also NEVER wrote that his intention is to overturn the election result and that he should become president. Here is what Trump DID say:

He was merely stating his opinion that Republicans are demoralized and skeptical about the accuracy of the voting system so they will stay home and not waste their time. However, if the fraud can be uncovered and fixed before the next election, so that there won't be a repeat of the fraud, it will give everyone confidence next time and they will go vote. Thus, it is the most important thing for Republicans to do.

Any sensible person can see this in Trump's words. But Trump derangement syndrome still lingers on, and some media people will push the worst meaning possible into Trump's words.

I don't think I ever called you naïve but this post qualifies.

Please stop name-calling, and answer with substance.

Is that not misrepresentation of what Trump said? Can in not at least be construed to say what I wrote? So how can you he put words into Trump's mouth?

Don't put words in my mouth. I didn't call you "naïve". The post qualifies as being "naïve".  :)

Your post sounds like you are describing him as a boy scout. If you believe he is a boy scout then yes your post would be accurate. If one believes he is a narcissist then your post is comical. Is that better?

Let me avoid the actual discussion, because I think it's going to go in circles, and I'll ask you another question:

Did you ever see a journalist with any integrity quote someone and ADD to their words, without using disclaimer words like "he implied" etc.

Yes, journalist all the time comment on what was said. Also I don't even know if this guy is a journalist. It was a tweet.

Now you get to answer a question. Didn't you put words in XXXX mouth with your response?

I'm going to have to agree with this one. This is pretty much Trump winking (hint, hint) at his people and saying don't vote, it doesn't count anyways. Which would be beyond bad for the Republican party (and the country), but this is narcissist Trump we are talking about who doesn't care about anyone or anything but himself.

Wasn't this already seen in the Georgia run off?

TBH I read it several times and thought it was fake that I checked Trumps official site. It wasn’t until someone explained me your angle that I thought otherwise. I agree that he meant what you’re saying. Still a terribly worded statement.
