Bad principal + inexperienced therapist = Silent Killer
Could easily be experienced and bad.

Agreed. But the clinics often employ green therapists that aren’t inexperienced and not necessarily qualified to deal with some of the more serious cases that are assigned to them.

Every parent has to know that they can't rely on the schools, rabbeim, teachers, principals or therapists. When the parents know their child has issues the parents have to be on top of it, no one else will feel the responsibility to save their kids. The sad reality is that too often the schools give up because, as one talented principal told me, they're too busy running the school to be able to take care of the kids. A busy therapist fitting a child into their schedule and doing you the favor of seeing the kid once a week isn't sticking his or her neck out.

Even parents need tons of siata dishmaya as many of these issues are extremely challenging to navigate even with a competent, caring, and cooperative school, and a well qualified therapist, let alone when parents don’t have any of that and don’t know where to turn.

100%. They can't be fooled into thinking that someone with a degree or charging a lot of money will solve the problem. There are some good people out there and parents need tons of sitata dishmaya and have to do the work of finding the right help and advice. Relief and some rabbonim and askonim can help but the parents are the real case managers.

Which is a big onus when these parents have other children, other responsibilities, and as is often the case there are issues in the home as well…
