This quarter, one of the categories that gives 5% cash back instead of the usual 1% for Chase Freedom, is department stores (like Kohl's). In addition, if you shop at Kohl's, you get another 5% off. That's in-store. Check out Chase Freedom online and see what deals they have for shopping at kohl's online (might be even better deal, although online, they don't have GCs).

As an aside, I didn't get credited for my yeshiva donation, so I called up, and no prob, they credited me another 4,000+ points.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. Missed the extra 5% at Kohl's (beyond it getting the 5% for being a dept store).

what advantage do u get out of davka buying BP cards at khols? buying anything there would give u the 5% plus 5%.
if u use gift cards at bp u dont get cash back only if u use an amex. so who cares if they have bp gift cards. buy any gift cards

You save 5% + 5% on clothing bought in kohls. The point of buying gas gc's is that you will be saving 10% on gas - if u would use the cc at the gas station you wouldn't get that savings.

Right - and if there are other gift cards that you will definitely use, go right ahead. But for most people, gas is a "need," not a "want," so you're getting it anyway. This is a way to get it for cheaper. Most other gift cards tend to be at least closer to a "want."

I would switch over my spending very quickly if it were true but don't think there is any chance. Although it may be good for some more goodwill credit

I guess its possible he statement closed already and he sees the 5%...

In addition it does not work for BP GCs

Officially that's probably true but I doubt their system can tell if u actually purchase gas or if it was a gc.
