Unpopular opinion:
It's great that he pardoned his son.
That's what a decent father does. Even after he says he wouldn't.
I don't think anyone actually thinks it was the wrong thing to do.

Just he should've kept it about being a father, making it all about lawfare, when it was his DOJ doing just that against his opponent is about as hypocritical as you can be.
Easily could've just said, the right thing to do politically would be to not pardon, but some things are above politics...
