So basically, we DDFers will be the back end, the ones who are matching, and hopefully we can pool together enough money to make a really enticing DDMS campaign.

"Every dollar given will be matched, up to $50,000" - or something to that effect ($100,000?)

This is a great idea, but now for my question. I'm not in a position right now to give a substantial "matcher" type of donation, but I do want to give something. Should we set up a more efficient matcher database, where even smaller donations can be put in as matchers (instead of just "I'll do the next $500"), or should I just give my donation and not get involved in this matching campaign?

Sure. But I think we don't want every dollar matched 3x or 5x, Rather each dollar matched 2x until x amount is raised

I would like to suggest that if we are going to put together a large sum of donations we should try to get ahold of the families that we are donating and making sure that it goes to them.

The reason I am writing I had a family member that passed away last year, and someone offered the family to put up a campaign on the chesed website and it was all over social websites and I was told by family that the cost of setting up and all the advertising was over 55% of what came in even though it clearly said on the campaign that the cheeses website charges 0 profit but the organizers did cost and they had collected over 60k.

Hope this won’t be miss understood. Obviously this may be the way it works and these people may be are doing amazing things for people that would have never been helped with out there help I am just writing here if we want to put together a large sum we don’t need all these people from the sides...

What about the vaad harabonim of Lakewood’s fundraiser? You think they’re making money on it?

Do we have someone organizing this? Or where donations will go?

Perhaps we should have DDMS readers donate to match pledges made on DDF?

What I thought. This is not run by any Vaad Harobbonim located in Lakewood. This is the regular Israeli Vaad Harabbonim organization that has a US mailing address in Lakewood.

Is there a more reliable campaign to use? Is the Israeli "vaad harabonim leinyonei tzedakah" really just a fundraising organization that would take a cut on each donation?

Yad Eliezer is a good option - I think they have a fund for the victims families

From my experience with the COVID matching campaign I recommend that how to distribute the match should be left to the donor's discretion.
