From my experience with the COVID matching campaign I recommend that how to distribute the match should be left to the donor's discretion.
I'm in agreement. But how do we get donor's from DDMS to donate so people here can match their donations?
If there's an organizer they can type up an ad that I'd run.
How about making a unique DDMS/DDF fundraiser, not connected to any other fundraiser. Obviously someone would have to work out distributing the funds.
Was just thinking this! I know it may sound hard, but I would trust this more than any random link I see.
I’m in agreement with this, but matchers should have the final say IMHO.
Generous DDF members are matching donations made to any of the reputable Tzedakah campaigns supporting families of the victims. For every dollar donated by you, another dollar will be matched by one of DDF's matchers up to the campaign limit.Matchers and donors please post your matching commitments and donations in the thread below, and the commitments, matches, and campaign totals can be tracked by anyone in the Wiki. Feel free to PM me anonymous matching commitments or donations. The main Tzedakah campaign link is here: https://thechesedfund.com/vaad-ha-rabbanim/merontragedy, other campaign links are available in this thread.Lets gather together and support those families who need all the love they can get. Thanks to all the generous matchers and generous donors.Original version of this post: Anyone want to commit funds to a DDMS/DDF matching campaign?
Where is the money going? To which of the families? who decides which family's are more "needy"?
Anyone want to take the lead on this and deciding where it should go?
Just a DP: TheChesedFund charges 3% for a campaign, and an additional 3% if you make teams. Something to keep in mind if you're piggybacking on another campaign.
Why not let the matchers and donors choose where to donate?
Maybe @Dan can reach out to https://www.charidy.com/takeushome and we will start a DD Fundraiser in that platform?
