What happens if DDMS doesn't donate as much as the DDF matches?

Matching campaigns are sleight of hand. 9 times out of 10, the matchers are giving the money anyway, so they use it to try to inspire others to give, as well. Sometimes, the idea of donations being matched will inspire the matchers to increase the amount of their initial pledge in hopes of seeing greater returns. In short, every DDFer is going to give what they pledged because they believe in the cause. If they can inspire others to give, as well, mah tov u'mah naim.

1.  New title much better...but long.  ETA: I think you changed it.
     I recommend:  DansDeals Matching Campaign: Help Families Who Lost Loved Ones in Meron
2.  Emphasize "And have your donation matched by a DDF member" in RED so that people will understand what is meant by the title
3.  Can English translations be added to the Shomati clip?  Very moving, yet I am assuming that most people seeing the clip do not understand Hebrew and certainly not all the subtitles. 
4.  Campaign should certainly be extended until after the end of lunch hour (PT) for people who will only be checking DDMS at that time (around 4pm ET).  You may want to consider extending it further for the yeshiva break between 1-3pm (ET at minimum).
5.  Not that DDMS came up with the campaign goal figures, but I think the goal numbers that were listed are too low to accomplish their goals.  Any amount, of course, will help.

If Dan is going to update the DDMS page with the current matching DDF funds, then it doesn't matter.  If not, then I think the extra few hours before the page goes up doesn't matter.

The only complicated thing I see is that two DDFers already donated on a different platform. The jury can decide if those funds should be treated as donations and backed with "backer funds", should they be treated as non DDMS donations and not backed, or if they can somehow be retroactively (and ethically) be considered "backing funds" and increase the DDF tally.

@Dan are we counting the already made donations by AsherO and S209 as part of the matching campaign?

If you add $10 to the matching amount, it's possible you can be responsible for that $10 being matched. If there are 100 people like you, it adds up.

If you feel this way, others probably do also. 

A large DDF matching sum is our collective goal.  Does is matter what is the minimum individual pledge?  Maybe people can pledge Anonymously if they feel their sum is too meager compared to names on the public list and then just email Dan with their matching amount.  On the other hand, if other DDFers see small matching amounts, they , too, may venture out to add a small amount.
