Half-day Vacation Days
« on: May 03, 2021, 08:15:41 PM »
I took off a week to attend a CE course. The course has since then become virtual. Lectures are scheduled from 1-5 Mon-Fri. I figured I would need to be off most of the day anyway so there is no reason to reinstate those work days.
Any destination ideas where I can disappear for 4 hours every day and it won't totally destroy the vacation? I'm thinking it has to be a relaxing place (as opposed to adventurous) and needs good reception/wifi.

For me this would be the perfect for a pretty solid bike ride. Start early, finish around noon. Lots of hilly scenic routes upstate (NY). Or keep it local and do a 4 boro ride (and if you have some extra time, a lap or two around central park). So many options.

I'd say any beach destination. Klutz by the water or do a morning activity and then lectures in the afternoon.

That's what I'm thinking. Ideally someplace with a minyan (at least for shabbos). Turks and Caicos? Panama?

Panama City doesn't have any beaches.

I just had an amazing getaway to Palm Springs - Chabad minyan 3x a day, domestic flights so no Covid testing issues, great wifi, no beaches but tons of resorts and points options with pools galore, beautiful scenery all around, and some nice 2-4 hour activities if you want to go out and explore.

I think the plan for now is to go down to Miami for the week and drive down to the keys for 2 days in middle
