I'm not weighing in to the merits of this brief, but I'm saying this knowing todays political environment and the justice system:
The chance of him getting a new trial are very close to zero.
Imagine the political upheaval it would cause if a new trial was ordered? I don't think there are more than a tiny handful of judges alive today who would have such iron convictions. And I'm sure the powers that be will orchestrate that this case never comes before any of those judges.
