Yes! Any method of attaining Diamond Status will count towards Lifetime Diamond status, as there are no restrictions.

No, you need to stay 60 nights in order to be eligible to gift Diamond status (or 30 nights to gift Gold). Here's the relevant section from HH website. Hope this helps.

Ok, then the answer is no. Basically you need to stay 60 nights in order to gift Diamond status.
