FYI check Uber Eats prices vs restaurant menus

This is probably obvious to most but an Uber Eats coupon code isn’t always a deal. For example, I have 2 30% off codes sitting in my account right now. Going through around 15 kosher restaurant options it looks like every establishment inflates their prices on Uber eats versus their own menu pricing. A pie of pizza that is around $15 in store will be priced at close to 20 on Uber Eats.Same goes for pretty much every item on the menu at every restaurant I’ve checked. It’s apparently a way for the restaurants to maintain their margins while attracting more business. Even with my Uber eats pass and 5% Uber eats discount I’m still paying more than I would in store. If I manage to buy Uber Eats gc at 20% off via Walmart/Costco etc. the pricing is a little better but no bargain.  And that’s assuming zero tip for the driver.

Sure, if you need the delivery and convenience it’s a good deal but don’t order with an Uber code just assuming you are getting a bargain without checking the in-store prices first.

Basically Uber is a rip off and they charge you for “the convenience”, probably is true compared to car service companies, those that are still in business anyway.

True, and they make it hard to remove the tip too. When I do tip it’s usually in cash...

I Noticed 1 place charges in store for certain sandwich in store $18.99, same sandwich via uber eats $26.99 before fees!

I only use now uber eats when I don’t have time to pick up

Like any other service it definitely has its uses, but I’ve heard from too many people who placed orders they wouldn’t have otherwise because they thought they were getting a bargain with the Uber discount code, so I figured I’d post.

Authentic Kosher Chinese used to be the same price, but it is still the fairest priced on unereats - they upped some items a dollar more than their actual menu.

I believe they can just upload price into Uber eats directly. Uber takes 30%, most restaurants will try to hike up the price as close to the 30% as possible.

i thought i remember reading that they need to submit a menu. i could be wrong though
