• Beaches across southern Israel have been closed.

Missile sirens now all the way from Gaza to Bat Yam (a suburb slightly South of Tel Aviv). Wonder if it's like גשמי ברכה where there Gezeira was at least minimized to Friday night when more people are at home and near shelter.

״ As Tisha B’av begins, over 400 rockets were fired by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group in the Gaza Strip towards Israel. No casualties were reported in Isreal while minor injuries were reported.

At least 30 of the rockets landed within Gaza killing multiple Palestinian civilians. The Iron Dome successfully intercepted nearly 95% of rockets headed to civilian areas.

Israel responded by conducting multiple airstrikes.

•The Israel Defense Forces struck and killed a senior leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terror group in the Gaza Strip on Saturday night, military officials said.

As of now 580 rockets have been launched by the PIJ, of which there were 200 intercepted by the Iron Dome which has a 97% success rate (intercepting rockets heading towards populated areas), and 120 landed short in Gaza.

“Israel has agreed to a truce in the Gaza Strip, an Egyptian security source told AFP.

“The Israeli side has accepted,” the source says, adding that Cairo was waiting for the Palestinian response, as part of Egyptian mediation efforts three days into the fighting in Gaza between Israel and Islamic Jihad.

An Israeli source, however, says the talks are still “advancing.”

“It’s not definite that there will be a ceasefire,” the unnamed official is quoted as saying by the Ynet news site.”
