@CGR
Thanks! Was going to start a thread on this now.
I have a full writeup in my signature link but here are some details:

The program provides:
-up to $50 per month towards broadband service
-a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet (applicants must contribute $10-$50 toward the purchase price)
This program stacks with the FCC’s existing Lifeline Program, so you can receive both Lifeline and the Emergency Broadband Benefit on the same service.

The program will end once funds have been exhausted, or 6 months after the Department of Health and Human Services lifts the Covid emergency- whichever comes first. Your provider will notify you when your benefit is scheduled to end.

At least one household member must be enrolled in one of the following programs for the household to qualify:
-Lifeline program
-Free and reduced-price school lunch program (students who were enrolled in the 2019-2020 school year but are currently homeschooled are also eligible)
-Federal Pell Grant during the current award year
-Experienced a substantial loss of income since February 29, 2020 (additionally, total household income must be below $99,000 for single filers and $198,000 for joint filers for the 2020 tax year)
-If your broadband provider is currently running a low-income or covid program that is income based and you qualify, you can qualify for this as well

The Emergency Broadband Benefit application opened on May 12, 2021. There are 3 ways one can apply for this program:
-Through your broadband provider
-Online via the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program website (https://www.getemergencybroadband.org/#)
-By calling 833-511-0311 and mailing in the necessary documents
If you are rejected AA (apply again ;) )

If anyone is still being rejected from EBB when applying with Optimum/Altice/Suddenlink, you can complete the form below and someone from Altice USA will be in touch.

Thanks to @YitzyS for bringing this issue to Optimum's attention, and chasing down a contact that can help!

@YitzyS got me approved as well :)

Just letting people know (at least I didn't realize - thought it was only for home internet )  you can apply the 50.00 to your cellphone service I just did it to cricket! here's the list https://www.fcc.gov/emergency-broadband-benefit-providers looks like you can get free service and a phone from some of them

Optimum/Altice is the absolute worst!!!! I have been rejected at least TEN times since May. It was usually the name and or address on the documentation does not match the applicant bull.  >:( After 3 months I had to reapply for Lifeline and was again approved. I applied again last week and made sure to make the name and address on the Lifeline profile and when I applied for EBB the exact same as my Optimum bill to avoid the St vs Street issue many complained about. I used my passport and SNAP acceptance letter as supporting documents. I even sent a copy of my Lifeline email and a copy of my latest Optimum bill to show that I indeed live at the same address and I qualify. I received an email this morning that I was yet again denied. This time the excuse was I did not supply the required documents but they didn't say what was missing. WTF???? I sent everything but a DNA sample!!!  >:( I don't know what to do at this point. Calling is pointless as they only transfer you in a circle from Optimum to EBB and back but nobody can do anything. I even filled out the Jotform form that someone posted and still nothing. I really feel like smacking earth, wind and fire out of someone because this is so ridiculous. Can anyone help ?

I gave up on Optimum and just called Verizon after I found out it can be applied on your phone bill as well. Immediately Verizon applied it and I see it showing on the preview for my next bill. Wish I had known all along and not wasted 2 months with Optimum and their cluelessness.

Cricket was pretty seamless.. Looks like it's going to become more permanent with the new infrastructure bill - going to transition to the Affordable Connectivity Program with only a 30.00 credit and a 200 fpl income limit... Hope they don't up the low cost internet that's now about 15.00 a month (Altice Advantage) to go up to 30 to match the credit. I want to keep the credit for my phone.

1 - Can someone already receiving $50 off their home phone/internet Optimum bill also get $50 toward a cell phone plan?
2 - Is this program limited to 1 per person or 1 per household?
Thanks.
