I think I've found more detail in the past, but right now all I can find is that they claim 100% capacity up to 5F, which is generally fine for NYC. I assume it's lower from -13 to 5, but I couldn't find the hard numbers just now.
100% capacity of what? I am seeing units at the high limits of 40-50k btu. That would not work for me.
With splits you usually have a bunch not one for the whole house or floor.
100% of the rated capacity of the outdoor unit. I happen to have two 36k units, paired to a total of 8 indoor units.+1. You can get the btu's needed for any size house, same as full central.
I was thinking you had one unit. How expensive was your two units, over 20K?
Actual price for everything installed was just under $20k. But I also had insurance money from the boiler and AC's that were ruined, plus huge rebates from a NYC program, so it was better than free. Last year NYC was paying close to the full cost of the system if you capped off your boiler or furnace. Think there was a thread or two about that here.
