Yes. We produced more than we consumed.
So in the first half of 2021 we were energy independent under Biden?
Also would you use more oil with economy coming back?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Make up your mind goalposts or no goalposts?

I asked a question and waiting for an answer. If you have no answers like usual best you stay out of the conversation.
Now what goalpost you want to use?

Since Biden came into office oil production went down. It doesn't go down in 1 day, but it dropped significantly to below our consumption very quickly.

OTOH if Trump was in office, production would likely have continued going up, further diminishing the effect such a war would have on oil prices.

Nice commentary but just like @aygart you didn't answer the question because it doesn't fit your narrative.

Under your definition of energy independent we were energy independent under Biden for the first half of 2021.

How didn't he answer? It sounded like an answer to me. Is it perhaps b/c you wanted him to simply answer yes, and you don't like the fact that he explained it with a logical explanation?? Maybe because you were trying to get very technical, and off the main point??

First answer the question which was a simple yes or no. Then add all the commentary you want.

Using his logic BO should get the credit for energy independent and the stock market.

Look at the steep decline under BO. The next admin was a continuation of his trend. The same with the stock market.

Energy independence is always a work in progress which takes years to reach and years to undo.

A president doesn't get credit for being energy independent nor do they get blamed for not being energy independent. The credit and blame is for policies that lead to more independent or less independent.

For example going from producing 50% of consumption up to 75% is good while going from 120% down to 110% is bad even though the first didn't have energy independence and the second did.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Energy friendly policies lead to more production and less friendly policies lead to less production.

So in the first half of 2021 we were energy independent under Biden?

It's 1 of many reasons we no longer have energy independence (independence from our adversaries, I don't mind some dependence on our allies)

You going to answer the question or just more of the same?It is a simple yes or no.
It's irrelevant.

So now we have another definition of "energy independence". Let me know when the goalposts stop moving.  ::)
It's irrelevant.
Then just admit the answer is yes. You are so far sunk in TDS (D=delusional) you can't see straight.

The US became a net exporter of crude towards the end of 2019 and while it fluctuates month to mirth, it remains the case on average.

You started moving your bullposts when you started with the economy in the same post where you started with whether it was like that under Biden.

I am asking what the goal posts are? You have someone base it on net. Then he says some imports you don't count or matter. So you try and call me out when his posts never stopped moving. I expect it though.
