Last January, the US informed Israel, Greece and Cyprus that they no longer supported the proposed EastMed natural-gas pipeline from Israel to Europe citing the need to “(allow) for future exports of electricity produced by renewable energy sources, benefiting nations in the region.”

I have to idea what other tweet you are talking about. I don't ignore facts. The opinion part is where we have a problem.

No it is not true the tweet implied that. The tweets states he got involved (prodded) to reduce gobal oil production.

ETA:He got others to agree to cut in production, picked some of the slack from Mexico who didn't want production cut and cut are own production. Are these the facts that are missing from the tweet? What a moron!!!

There is some validity to all the arguements here, however a few points are missing.

1) All this will lead to higher costs for EVs, but high fuel prices mean people are willing to pay even more for an EV.

2) New technologies mean that less scarce metal is needed. Either more efficient batteries so less is needed for the same capacity or different chemistries like LFP which doesn't use much precious metal if any. While LFP is not good for all applications it is excellent for short and medium range vehicles. Tesla is using them in their standard range vehicles.

3) The cost of charging is still peanuts compared to gas, even if electricity prices increase it will still be much cheaper.

3. Is easy to compute. Cost per KWH of your local utility times capacity divided by range. Compare that to equivalent gas car MPG and cost of gas.
