Combining an award ticket and a revenue ticket on Aer Lingus

If I have a paid ticket on Aer Lingus from EDI to DUB
and an award flight on Aer Lingus from DUB to NYC


Do I have to be in DUB 3 hours before my flight to NY because it's an international flight?  Or will 1 1/2 hours between flights suffice?
Would they move my baggage? or will I have to collect it and recheck in?
Basically, Can I combine itineraries?

Some airlines/alliances will through-check your bags to final destination. Others will not. Helps to have both tickets issued by same airline.

The 3 hour "rule" isn't actually a rule, it's simply a recommendation. If you've got staus so you know your subsequent checking will be fast you can just figure out yourself  how long you think it will take to get through customs, checkin, and security back in and go with whatever you're comfortable with.
