What is the logic for defending this mickey mouse setup?
No one is defending criminals. Only clarifying the overly exaggerated coverage by the media who know nothing about the circumstances. Even that video circulating is a complete distortion, zooming in on a few threads that stayed hanging after a complete collapse. I and many others know how much time and energy went into ensuring the safety of this event. They went above and beyond. I know this firsthand. Unfortunately, they missed this blindspot. It's very tragic.
Interestingly, from the many injured I know well, I haven't heard ONE PERSON saying they hope those in charge will be prosecuted. It's only the outsiders who got their info from Twitter, WhatsApp, YWN and Matzav, that are so concerned about how many will spend time in jail. If those suffering physically and emotionally aren't spending their time accusing others, why are outsiders doing so. As klal Yisroel, we are family. If ones parent or sibling would be involved in such an error, I don't think they would be excited for their family member to be procecuted.
All this doesn't mean that those in charge won't be procecuted. There's a thorough investigation ongoing, and they are fully cooperating with the authorities. But it's sickening to see how some are so obsessed with the neglect involved based on distorted information.
If people are so concerned, they can consider praying for a full recovery of the injured, or donating to the fund set up to help the families. It's a sad long recovery process. The Mesivtas here look like a rehab, with dozens of boys with boots, slings, crutches, stiches etc. Some breadwinners are bedridden and can't work etc. And much more. There's much better ways to help them, then by assuring the arrest of the organizers.
(I'm not only responding to the one quoted here, but to everyone who is overindulging in the unnecessary details of the tragedy)
Disclaimer: I'm not one of the organizers, nor a close relative to any of them.
