On 9/24 we received a certain amount as a direct deposit and we also received a check dated 9/24 for the exact amount.
Also, the numbers don't equal the last 2 months.
Any idea what's going on?

Also, why do the 2 equal payments (DD & check) add up to somewhat more than the past payments?

When they're sent the same way, it's sent as a single payment. When you update your preferred payment type, it only applies to your half of the payment.
