You don't have to be flying their metal, you just need to book with AP miles. But you'd need to book at least one adult with AP miles to get the child at 10% AFAIK.

AP allows kids for $100/$150 in J/F.

Right. Got confused with BA. Either way the point is the same - gotta put at least one adult on there.

Officially thats the rule for every infant reservation.

Are u implying that it can be done unofficially?

My understanding is that a TA can issue a rev ticket for an infant alone, however it's against the rules. Not exactly sure.

...except this wouldn't be a rev ticket...

The $100/$150 infant ticket is considered rev, even if it get's attached to a (UA) award ticket later on (which PG suggested might be possible, check with our local TA if you're seriously interested in trying this).

Pardon my confusion, but I don't have enough MR points sitting around to transfer to AP, so I'll either be using US Airway or UA. Problem with US Airway is that the stopover has to be done in a hub city, and I have no interest in Qatar. I've read to call back and find a more clueless agent, but I realized that I need 180 to book enjoy, and I only have 160 in my main account.
That leaves me with UA.
With UA, can I put a hold on a tik done over the phone? I don't have status with them.

Stopover restrictions: Rarely enforced, but any stopover is supposed to be at a Star Alliance hub city. This is so that you aren’t routing yourself ‘out of the way’ of the most direct routing. You can also have your stopover in a US Airways gateway city (Charlotte, Philadelphia, Phoenix) or a US Airways international destination city (the rules don’t say this, but it may require flying into that destination on US Airways).

Great TR! You should make a coffee table book out of it when it's all done.

Maybe it was just me, but other than the Spa, I was a bit disappointed with the EY F lounge. Maybe it was just that I had such high hopes. Quite small as well.

It was on the smaller side (especially compared to the one in Doha which was the size of a small city), but I found that to be a positive thing as it made it seem more intimate, with more attention being paid to the pax.

What lounges beat it? FCT in FRA? Thai in BKK?

I had a hard time finding seating at 8 AM. Menu did look good though.

Also the RainSky by Dornbracht system in the shower is quite amazing. Some of the hotels in the UAE have it as well. I tried ordering it for my house, but apparently it's illegal in the USA and Canada because it uses too much water.  Some would also probably argue that buying a German shower system is a bit worse than leasing a Beamer. Probably true.

Yes, both of those lounges are nicer as well as the CX F lounge in HKG and prob the BA Concorde Room in LHR

Ah, RainSky? That's what that marvelous shower was called? Utterly blissful. I seriously might have been in there for 40 minutes.

Yeah, it was busier at about 7 or 8 am then it was at 10 or 11pm. I quite liked it the night before, but can definitely understand it being too small when more than about 40-50 people are there.

Well, I hope to some day try out some of those lounges...
