Author Topic: Honeymoon: BOB, MLE, Or LIH? (Read 146629 times)

Just read the first ~300 posts through your landing back home. I can't figure out how you ended up deciding on MLE over BOB. It seems like you were just looking for people's opinions and then went with MLE once you realized award availability was easier to find. Am I wrong?

As I've often repeated 'round these parts MLE is better in certain regards:

1) Better premium cabins, especially F (which doesn't exist at all with BOB)
2) Easier to secure OWB with private pool
3) More options for routing, making awards easier

I didn't update my post here, but I did piece that info together from reading through the threads last night.

I'd be okay with the lower quality cabins, but flight/IC Thalasso availability and cost of the last leg are keeping me from BOB and the longer flight time, cost of the last leg and cost of securing an OWB are keeping me from MLE. It looks beautiful, but unless some of those things change, those restrictions will probably hold me back.

Want to start planning my bar trip, and I've always wanted to go to either one of these, but don't know which one to go too. Would probably go in the month of August (if that makes a difference for the weather). As for points, I have AA points for the flights, and a lot of UR points that I plan on using for the hotel. Anyone have any insight? Thanks!!!

I've seen that June-August is the least popular time for the Maldives because of the weather. Is it that it's just not as good, or is it not worth going in August at all? Because other sites seem to indicate that weather in the Maldives is always unpredictable, and often times you'll have a random downpour here and there, but it usually clears up pretty quickly.
