where I live, it's $20. I've offered yungeliet starting salaries of 60k with increases 6 month raises to $75 as they learn, train and reach certain benchmarks. All responded they won't accept less than 80k starting salary.

it's called supply and demand.
No likes when their salary/ wages are criticized and have all sorts of reasons why they deserve the current market rate for their services, but they're happy to critique other industries.

No one's crying for anyone. You can do a long-term study to find out who overpaid,who underpaid etc. The current scene in Lakewood is that of a business boom-town. It has rippling effects across many areas. Starting salaries for young inexperienced office workers is one of them.

If you're comparing to NYC, yes that's true. NYC has very high salaries to match the high cost of living.

I’m not understanding, are you saying for the right price workers wouldn’t come? For 100K you won’t get workers?

The unemployment program might have accomplished what a minimum wage hike would have in a more organic fashion. Time will tell. And time will tell if it’s a good thing or bad thing.
