Haven't seen this posted anywhere ever...
I unsuccessfully tried signing up for a free one-year FoundersCard membership via an obscure Amex partnership. I tried various Amex cards that were at my disposal (both U.S. and non-U.S.), but it never accepted any of the numbers. I continued to get spammy e-mails encouraging me to complete registration, but it never worked, and they never replied to my emails asking for help.

The other day, I got a slightly different e-mail about a 6 month membership with a different code and that one worked!

The code doesn't seem personalized, so feel free to give it a shot: viptrialrun6

Preferred pricing with some vendors, airlines, and hotels. Apparently the hotel program, while limited, offers pretty good deals if it fits your budget and travel patterns.

Eh, free is free so can't hurt to explore.

Actually using the "Diamond status" at Caesars to get an incredible price, free valet parking and no resort fees, when I go in a few weeks.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is Citi VAN?
And my understanding was that there is good value to be had from the hotel program - not true?

Definitely not worth the cost, but if it's free....

They run special deals throughout the year, like status matches and status upgrades not available to the general public.

I particularly use it for the Caesars/Wyndham diamond status.
