Wow. I've never heard of this. Is this seriously legit? Where did you see this? For how long have you been using it? Any issues?

There are only 3 reviews there. One can get an idea of what to look out for, but I wouldn't judge the service by those. For the right business it sounds like a good deal.

Anyone have experience with Fingercheck? it's a frum owned company, with plans starting at $47/month.

Anyone have experience with, or has researched, more than one company, (Fingercheck.com, gusto.com, payroll4free.com, paycor.com, paychex.com) to help contrast these, low cost services for a very small company?

Thanks!

I have no experience with Fingercheck. I currently use Payroll4Free and am using their tax filing service. I did have some issues with them on my NY filings, but I believe those were since fixed. Payroll4Free is also a frum owned company. They just raised their fees in 2022 for tax filing.

I started with paychex and just moved to onpay. It's 40 per month plus 4 per user. That includes all filings

Fingercheck has a minimum of 5 employees (40 per months + $8/employee) or ~$79/month

Why the switch? How do they compare?
Is the transition painful, though I suppose it's easier at year end.
Does the old company support you through tax filing season? or do you pay both for 1-2 months.

i switched because of cost. paychex is about 60 per payroll. onpay in 40+4 per month.
I transitioned year end so was simple. but if i would have switched in middle of the year there is just some extra documentation they would have needed.
paychex did my tax filing for 2021. not sure what other support you would need.

I've been using esmartpaycheck.com
really good. decent prices. but no direct deposit.

I am looking into switching to them, after having used Payroll4Free.com for a couple of years. The reason is that Payroll4Free raised their rates as of 2022 for filing taxes (I don't do or need direct deposit at this point). I have also had some issues with them in regards to NYS taxes, it ended up mostly costing me time, as NYS agreed to waive the penalties.

I contacted esmartpaycheck.com with some questions, and they suggested using their other service http://www.paycheckmanager.com/ which allows for manual or automated filing and paying of Federal and State taxes. For me the cost would be a drop lower than Payroll4free.

However, setup, learning curve, and mid year switch for tax filings are holding me back (and what if I'm not satisfied?).

I currently use Payroll4Free and am using their tax filing service.
are they a viable choice for doing just Direct deposit (no filing)? what is their pricing for that?

I never used direct deposit (I just do my own manually with my bank).

The following is from an email I received in December (I was paying $15/month up until December):

Quote
However, in order to continue to best serve you and to keep the talented team that we have, we are forced to increase some of our fees starting in January. Most notably, we are updating our monthly fees for each of our optional services, Payroll Tax Service and Direct Deposit Service.

They will each increase to $25 per month for those of you who only use one or the other service. However, for those of you who use both options, the fee will not change, as the bundle for both services is $30 per month.

This is the perfect opportunity for those of you who have only one of the optional services to add the other for only $5 more per month.

If you currently receive Payroll Tax Service for free (due to qualifying for that benefit in one of our investing campaigns), your free service will continue.

For those of you who prefer to pay for these services annually instead of monthly at the discounted rate, the annual fees will each increase to $250 per year, or $300 for the bundle of both services.

Seems like a lot of hassle just to avoid $100-$120/year price increase

Exactly. Though it also seems like an online portal (which can be accessed anywhere) vs dedicated software.

Any recommendation for service provider for late payroll filing for one employee (E.g. to file Q4 2021 payroll, and payroll related tax filings for 2021, this month, 6 weeks late). Most of the automated services don't seem cut out for that.

Please PM me.

I got one quote that seemed unreasonably high.
