It seems like anyone who filed after they updated the system is fine. It's just those who filed early who are getting a guaranteed 3% on our money

Did you claim a missing stimulus payment or the $10,200 UI deduction?

Almost every return that claims a missing stimulus payment, the $10,200 UI deduction or any other Covid related change to the tax law, is taking much longer to process.
If it benefits even just one fellow DDFer, its worth posting it.

Filed 2019 PAPER on March 26 (big mistake!! but I filed with Turbo so couldn't e-file as was way past deadline, I think accountants can e-file 2 yrs though??)

I e-filed 2020 on April 16th with a missing stimulus payment. I also used my 2019 tax info for my Child Tax Credit form (probably adding to delay!). Until now, I couldn't find a thing on my 2019 return. Now at least, it is showing up in my IRS account as the most recent filed return. Regarding 2020- first was saying "processing" for weeks, now it says no information can be found on my 2020 refund and I should check that it was filed. Strange....

Any accountants that can chime in?? Just gotta sit tight still?

https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/national-taxpayer-advocate-assesses-tax-filing-season-and-identifies-areas-for-irs-improvement-in-midyear-report-to-congress

The IRS Finished the Filing Season with Over 35 Million Tax Returns Awaiting Manual Reviews
Although most taxpayers successfully filed their returns and received their refunds, a historically high number did not. At the conclusion of the filing season, the IRS faced a backlog of over 35 million individual and business income tax returns that require manual processing – meaning that employee involvement is generally needed before a return can advance to the next stage in the processing pipeline. The backlog includes about 16.8 million paper tax returns waiting to be processed; about 15.8 million returns suspended during processing that require further review; and about 2.7 million amended returns awaiting processing. The backlog resulted largely from the pandemic-related evacuation order that restricted employee access to IRS facilities.

Interesting enough , I just checked the status of my refund and it says it was mailed out yesterday , however the latest stimulus for for the new baby is not in there. Is there an easy way to request that additional $1400 or do I need to speak to my accountant?

How so ?
The $1400 was sent in 2021, Its not part of the 2020 Return.

Exactly. So how do I claim it for someone born in 2020 ?

You should get it automatically once the IRS has processed your 2020 return with the new child on it.
did you check https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment ?

So they just finnished processing my 2020 return. Are you saying that I will get it automatically and I don't need to claim a missing stimulus based on my 2020 return ?
