if somebody got a car loan in June and now wants to apply for this card do you think they should wait till next billing cycle ( juy16) or not worth the risk as people are saying this can end any day?

Car loan isn't a issue just apply today

Family member tried to do this on a 2/3 day timeline and it didn't work. Had to wait a bit longer and it eventually worked

Was approved for both earlier in the wk (CL of 15K total) though had to call recon, thanks @Davidthebest, @Kobe Bryant and @Dan for your responses.

Correction, I'd read elsewhere that applying for 2 Chase cards had triggered a FR for some hence the question re risk...

Update 7/18/21: Multiple readers are reporting that beginning today, July 18, the branch offer is 100,000 points with the annual fee waived. That’s the same offer as it was until now with the exception of the $50 grocery credit which is no longer available. This branch offer is still better than the regular online offer of 100,000 which does not have the annual fee waiver.

@Dan, I apologize if this has been asked and answered before, I downgraded my Reserve to get this offer, got the card and have spent the 4k already, but the statement has not yet ended so the points have not yet posted. Would I be able (or is there any reason not to) change the Preferred back to a Reserve (would like to use for some travel) and would those points still post? Thanks!

Downgraded reserve to freedom. If I want to upgrade again to reserve, am I better off upgrading a different freedom card? Will that card get the $300 travel?
