Visa vs MasterCard (and some minor benefits.)

What are the benefit differences? If I already have a legacy Freedom card, is it better to do a PC to a flex or to a legacy?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

If you plan to apply for the Flex (and get the bonuses) in the near future, it's easier if you PC to legacy (less PC). Otherwise the Flex has better benefits (3x Pharm. and Dining)

Just got decline letter and it says that it's due to having an existing Sapphire branded card (despite having closed it two days before). Any chance of still getting it?

In other news I had an AMEX BP 150k mailer on my desk that I was deferring. Opened it today intending to take advantage only to see that it expired on 9/30 (and said pre-approved).
Perhaps at a branch?

Perhaps at a branch?
If for some reason your previous Sapphire card has not been purged from the system despite the fact that it has been two days, seven days or thirty days, going to the branch will not help.  They have a pull down menu on their credit card application page which lists your eligible credit card possibilities.  Sapphire will not appear until it is purged.

If you keep trying online until it does not deny you automatically, then you will know that the old one has purged.  If you apply then at the branch you will be denied for a second application and lending told me that they will not allow you to cancel the first and then reapply at the branch.  Please CMIIW or you find out anything different.  This was a summary of many different phone calls on this matter.

Are you saying that if we apply direct to a Freedom Flex and not PC to it now, that we can still get the bonus on it even though we have multiple legacy Freedoms?

What do you mean that it is EASIER to PC to legacy?

Yes.

If you're not thinking about applying for a Flex now, and you downgrade to a Flex, you can always change it later, but that involves an extra PC so if you have any Tzad to apply for the Flex it's easier to change to the legacy now.

I like keeping my options open.  It sounds like I should have downgraded to a legacy since I am already an AU on another Flex.  Oh well.  Thanks.

Anyone one know if I am able to get this offer twice?
I mistakenly applied twice on the same day and got approved both times and received two credit cards will they give me 100k on each or will I just be able to get it on the first one
I call Cs and they said they see the offer on both cards

If I am signing up for my wife and I speak to customer representative and I identify as my wife's husband, will that be a problem?
Or do I have to act as if I'm my wife?

Aha I hear.
I put my phone number on the application and I think that's the reason it's been flagged.
Would that be a problem?

The problem is that the only time I can call is during work hours when I'm not home

Can they actually tell that you are not who you say you are?

They can suspect but unless they're using voice ID no. As long as you have the DOB and SS you're good.

I have the Saphire Preferred with 100k+ points? Is one of the best ways to spend the points to pay down the credit card with them?
If so, how do I do that?

Obviously everyone has their own unique scenarios, but your best value is to use these points at a minimum value of 1.25 cents each towards travel via the chase ultimate rewards portal. You can achieve a higher (or lower if you aren't careful) value per point if you transfer points to a partner airline or hotel. A statement credit will typically be one of the worst values you can get for your points.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.
