chase bank won't accept loose coin deposits?

the last time i deposited loose coin changes were few years ago. This time, I had a mixed bag of coins, quarters, dimes, nickles pennies etc.

I am a chase banking customer and i have personal and business credit card with chase as well. Walked in to the teller who said I have to bring them wrapped and they don't have machines to count them. I asked for help from the supervisor on site who said won't accept loose coin deposits. I thought they were supposed to accept a valid USD coins, cash or checks deposits of a customer.

To say they don't have machine to count them sounds nonsense. Tells me I should go to coin counting machines at grocery stores.

It’s too much of a hassle/cost for them to deal with, I bet they still process coins for business account holders. The COVID coin shortage has probably been over for a while already.

My local advancedautoparts has a sign on their door saying due to a national coin shortage if you bring x amount of change you get a 10% off coupon

They accept coins. Just can't be loose - needs to be in rolls. (Not defending them..)

Yup they were taking trumois and maasur from everyone using their machines, they got sued for pocketing a percentage from people.

 I remember going into the bank with the 5 gallon bottle of water filled with coins to be counted, i can't imagine what they took off from me.

 On this topic check out this video, i thought it was pretty cool that the dealership excepted the 12k worth of coins.

IINM in the old days, every bank required you to put coins in rolls. I think it was TD that came up with the "Penny Arcade" and advertised that they take loose change, making a big deal about it.
