1) need to be an account holder for 30+ days
2) $100/ref instead of $200
3) max 10 referrals per quarter instead of 20

Poorly thought out and poorly executed by the company. Their target demo is people making $200k/yr, and this promo likely skewed their membership towards people making much less than that.

They didn't change the rules. The rule about knowing the referee personally was there. I just don't know how you quantify knowing someone personally. He's liked a lot of my posts! If that's not personal, what is?

If that was the reason they gave you when they said they're not honoring, fine. But from what I can tell, they changed the rules because the promotion wasn't being used as intended, but they never said they weren't honoring people who got in before the change. They do seem to be saying anyone Dan referred is intelligible because he used the forum rather than knowing us personally. You gotta admit, they're case is strong, even if many of us do actually know Dan personally
