AA redemption thru BA...??
« on: December 22, 2011, 08:51:26 AM »
I have been trying to book an AA trip, NY to LA or San Diego thru BA for April..but although the AA website shows
availabilities, when you call BA to book they tell you they dont have anything available...seems that AA barely gives
BA any flights for redemptions...
Any way around this?

Whenever AA is showing Saaver availability, it would come up on BA.

OK..this is a little confusing..is there a consensus as to whether AA milesaaver flights on the AA website should be accessible to BA...or does AA give BA a very limited amount of flights to give out as rewards...

Thanks for any clarification and happy holidays to all!

Where do you get the idea that AA allocates certain availability to BA? Anything AA SAAver should be available via BA.

When you call BA and try to book over the phone they do not give you any of the available results that you see on the AA website...they tell you they dont see those flights...
very frustrating as they have a severely limited selection, while the AA website has a much much larger selection...
and when you try and book online there is an even more limited selection...
i am trying to book for Pesach to San Diego from New York and I would love to use my BA miles!
Thanks
Stan

leaving JFK area to SAN...any airport on Thurs, Apr. 5 in the morning and returning on Sun, April 15
the AA website gives numerous possibilities..some non stop and some one-stop...
searching BA on the web gives ZERO availability amaong partner airlines...and i called last week for this and they told me nothing available!!

Is it possible to speak to someone above the usual reservation taker at BA to get booked?

There are no saver seats available on AA. (meaning no seats for 12.5 miles each way) which is what you would need available to book using ba miles

well i would gladly do the 25K redemptions...but BA does not have those...
does this mean that BA only has 12.5K tickets for the redemptions ?
thanks

well that explains it...seems to be less than forthcoming on the part of BA/AA...they should advertise themselves at limited partners...well got to look elsewhere!

Same topic, different airline:

LAN flight 4M4520 (MIA-EZE) on Jan 18 is available for mileage redemption on the Quantas site but does not show on BA.com as well as when calling BA. Anyone knows the LAN-BA pattern?
